Announcement from Narashino Catholic Church, parish priest
✞Peace of the Lord
"God did not make death, nor delight in the destruction of the living." (The Book of Wisdom 1: 13. Tomorrow, June 27, the first reading.)
And the Lord Jesus also affirmed, "It is not the will of your heavenly Father that any of these little things perish." (Matthew 18: 14)
Let us pray together for the last Lord’s Day of June, the month of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, a blessing of trust, which will entrust all our lives to our heavenly Father.
Now, from March to June last year, all parishes of Tokyo Diocese had their "open mass" canceled due to COVID-19. The "Open Mass" was resumed in July, but as a measure to prevent infectious diseases, we avoided Three Cs and participated in mass in each block. In other words, the believers of Narashino Parish can attend Mass only once a month.
A full year has passed since the mass was held during the COVID-19 pandemic. I was able to check the number of weekly mass participants. On average, 35 to 40 followers participated in each mass (7: 30 and 10: 00 mass). In addition, 20 to 30 foreign believers (Filipinos, Vietnamese, etc. Some people participate every week.). Actually, 70 people in the chapel, 8 people in the second floor, a family in the infant room, about 80 people in total can participate in each mass.
Therefore, I would like to change the rule so that you will be able to attend the mass twice a month from September. Participants are divided into 2 groups, A and B, as follows.
Group A (Block 1 and 3, Foreigners.) is on the 1st and 3rd Sunday.
Group B (Block 2, 4 and 5) is on the 2nd and 4th Sunday.
The details will be explained by the Management committee in the announcement of mass in July and August. Also, there are printed documents at the entrance of the chapel, so please take one.
June 26, 2021.
The month of the Sacred Heart of Jesus
