Dear members of Narashino Parish
✞May the peace of the Lord be with you
1. Good news.
For the first time in 20 years, a new elementary school will be built in Chiba City. (2026 April, Wakaba 3-chome, Mihama-ku, Chiba City) The decision was made at a meeting of the city's Board of Education on April 19, due to the expected increase in population in the Makuhari Shin Toshin area. This is great news for the "Decliningbirth rate and an Aging population”.
2. Unfortunate news
Yesterday, the number of people infected with the new coronavirus caused by Omicron strain in Chiba Prefecture was 3,802, the highest number so far. The system for securing hospital beds has been upgraded to "Phase 2B" and measures to reduce the burden on public health centers have been implemented.
(See the website of the Chiba prefectural government)
Since we heard many concerned voices about this situation, we decided to cancel Masses as follows.
●The reason to cancel Masses;
(1) To avoid the burden of medical care
(2) To protect those who are serving Mass (receptionists, chapel ushers, parking lot ushers, liturgical
ushers, etc.)
●The cancellation period
January 30(Sun) ~ February 13(Sun)
(Sunday Masses : 7:30am, 10:00am, Children's Mass 2:30pm)
In addition, due to the cancellation of the Sunday Mass, the Church General Meeting scheduled for the
30th will be cancelled. As with last year, we will inform everyone in the materials.
In this time of anxiety and turmoil, let's remember the words of Jesus.
“Don't let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me." (John 14:1) "
In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." (John 16:33)
We are the ones who have Jesus' victory over death by faith. I pray that we can always live with hope.
